Dr. Samuel A. Mudd Elementary School won the USGBC Maryland Judge’s Choice Award at the 2021 A Midsummer Night’s Green Awards. The 76,562 sq ft modernization and expansion included a new geothermal ground water source HVAC system. A rain barrel system collects excess rainwater and redistributes it to a family of turtles who live in the courtyard which is part of the school’s science program.
